Forgive

Written by LJM Staff on .

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 1:9

Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"  Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven."

Matthew 18:21-22

"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.  But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive your trespasses."

Mark 11:25-26

What does forgiveness mean?  How does not being able to forgive affect our lives?

The love that we gain allows us to increase our faith, which allows us to forgive.  Forgiveness is the place where we start to gain momentum to achieve what God has in store for us.  This is where we release the things that have been holding us back.  Forgiveness is true faith in action because many times we cannot forgive in our own flesh.  We have to depend on our knowledge of God to show us how to release ourselves and others who have hurt us.  Sometimes there are things in our past that we don't even realize that we need to forgive.  Knowledge of the true word can help us to uncover those mystical things that haunt us.  Our inability to forgive manifests in so many things such as: poor health, depression, diminished dreams, poverty, failed relationships, and the list goes on.  That is not what God is about, He called us to enjoy this beautiful earth that He made.

We must look vertical, not horizontal.
