Love

Written by LJM Staff on .

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

John 3:15-17

And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment.

Philippians 1:9

"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I loved you, that you also love one another."

John 13:34

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.  Love never fails.  But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

1 Corinthians 13:4-8

And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 13:13

God displayed His love for us first by giving His Son for our sins.  Now, we are charged to have the same love for one another.  Knowledge of God is true love and freedom.  The only way to gain knowledge of God is through learning, understanding, and meditating on His word.  Through love humility is built and we are able to forgive.  By doing this we are able to release baggage from past and present trials.  Allowing us to have a purpose driven future without the darts that are shot in our path to take our focus off the big picture.  This love allows us the beauty to live in true joy.  It allows us to forgive the most horrible things and endure what we never thought possible. The bags are released and we begin to experience the ultimate freedom in life through love.
